PML-N President and opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has termed the hike in the prices of electricity and petrol and rising taxes as mini-budget, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement on Friday, Shehbaz said the time had proved him right as he had predicted on the floor of the house on the eve of the budget session that the government would bring a mini-budget. He said that the government had deceived the nation.
The opposition leader said as long as this government was holding to power, the economy of the country would keep tumbling. He dubbed Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi as an inept, cruel and corrupt ruler.
The extreme inflation has raised the question of the country’s economic viability which does not augur well for Pakistan, Shehbaz held.
He alleged that Imran Niazi was not working for Pakistan, he was working for the IMF.
“We reject hike in prices of electricity and petroleum products. Government must withdraw the price surge notice,” he added.
Shehbaz lamented that the government had become so insensitive to the economic miseries of people.
