Today is last day for income tax returns submission
FBR offices, NBP to remain open till late on last day of returns submission

As today (Friday) is the last day for filing of the income tax returns, the Federal Board of Revenue will keep open its offices till 12 midnight and the National Bank will remain open till 8pm. While the bureau has directed the filers that there will be no further extension in the submission date, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
FBR spokesman Asad Tahir Jappa warned that after the expiry of the returns submission date, the filers could face the imposition of a daily fine and imprisonment of up to two years. He said there would be no extension in the submission deadline.
He stated that FBR online portal ‘Iris’ was working smoothly and its efficiency had been improved to handle the traffic.

Last time, the FBR online portal crashed due to heavy traffic on Iris and so many filers could not file their income tax returns. So the Finance Ministry decided to extend the deadline till Oct 15.
