According to the actor, he has never hesitated to defend Pakistan and believes it is natural for a person to feel strongly about their homeland. He emphasized that every nation has citizens who stand up for their country, and Pakistanis should be no different.
Thakur further clarified that broader political and economic matters are not influenced by individual personalities. Speaking about Pakistan-India relations, he noted that trade, cultural exchanges, and entertainment collaborations largely depend on the state of diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries.
He expressed the view that if relations between Pakistan and India improve in the future, trade could resume and creative collaborations, including film projects, may once again become possible.
The actor also highlighted the cultural similarities shared by people on both sides of Punjab, noting that common language, traditions, and heritage often create warmth and mutual respect among ordinary citizens despite political differences.
