Punjab police have started an investigation of the Wazirabad firing incident to unearth the facts behind the accused Naveed’s video leak conspiracy.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, on the direction of IG Punjab Police, the inquiry committee has started work and the AIG Inquiries visited the Wazirabad crime scene and police station.

The AIG Inquiries also visited the RPO Gujrat, and DPO Wazirabad and met the police officials. He also visited the Chung CTD office for inquiry and distributed an 8-point questionnaire to all police officers.

The police officials said the inquiry committee was ordered to conduct an inquiry and send a report within 3 days but now as the officers are on emergency duty, they asked for 3 more days to complete the inquiry.

The police officials said that when the assassination attempt against Imran Khan was taken place in Wazirabad during the long march, 521 policemen were stationed around the container while 150 snipers were stationed on rooftops.

Bulletproof sheet and rostrum were not used despite the request of the police and such thing was officially informed to the higher authorities and Imran Khan's Chief Security Officer through a letter from the RPO and DPO.

The firing took place at 4:07 PM while the accused identified as Naveed was caught by the police from a nearby empty junkyard at 4:12 PM.

The accused escaped from the crime scene and entered the junkyard by jumping from the roof. The junkyard was closed for a long time, and the police entered there removing the soil with a hoe.

Later, the accused was transferred to the police station headed by SHO Shahbaz Hanjra at 4:53 PM where he was shifted to the SHO's room.

The inquiry committee has obtained the video of the police station cameras from 4:53 PM to 6:30 AM and the video evidence of these cameras will determine whose cellular phone was used to make and leak the video statement of the accused Naveed.

The police officials further said that around 6:30 pm, the CTD officers left the police station for Lahore. The committee will investigate some junior and senior officers related to Wazirabad police and CTD staff in the next 2 days as they have been called to Lahore.
