Ministry of Law appoints new members to Law and Justice Commission for three-year term

The Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a notification announcing the appointment of four new members to the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan for a term of three years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

According to the notification dated April 17, 2025, the appointments have been made on the recommendation of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, who also serves as the Chairman of the Commission.

The newly appointed members include Advocate Fazal-i-Haq Abbasi from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Advocate Muhammad Makhdoom Ali Khan from Sindh, Advocate Haris Ahmad Khawaja from Punjab, and Advocate Kamran Murtaza from Balochistan.

All four appointees are Senior Advocates of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and have been selected as non-ex-officio members.

The Law and Justice Commission is a crucial body responsible for proposing judicial reforms and improving the legal framework in the country.
