Sarfaraz Ahmed backs Pakistan's young guns to deliver in upcoming tournaments

 Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has expressed confidence in the national team’s emerging talent, praising the selection of young players like Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, and Saim Ayub for the upcoming UAE Tri-Series and Asia Cup 2025.

Speaking at a ceremony, Sarfaraz lauded the emergence of new talent over the past three to four years, pointing to youngsters such as Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, and Saim Ayub who have been given opportunities to prove themselves at the international stage.

“It’s a good squad announcement, and I am hopeful that the national team can win both the tri-nation series and the Asia Cup,” he said.

He further noted Pakistan’s strong record on UAE pitches, which have historically suited the team’s style of play. He also singled out Fakhar Zaman as a “match-winner,” praising his consistent performances in recent months.

Sarfaraz welcomed the inclusion of cricket in the Olympic Games, calling it a “historic and positive step” for the sport’s global recognition.

  “I hope Pakistan will bring home a gold medal in the Olympics as well.”
