Indian PM Modi writes to Nawaz Sharif to condole death of his mother

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a letter to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to condole the death of his mother, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Thursday.
The letter was written on November 27 and the Indian High Commissioner sent the letter to Maryam Nawaz on Dec 11. The Indian High Commissioner has also requested Maryam to send the letter to Nawaz Sharif.
In the letter, Modi wrote that he met Begum Shamim Akhtar during his short visit in 2015 and was really impressed by her simplicity.
Prime Minister Modi said that he was sad to hear the demise of Begum Shamim Akhtar.
Narendra Modi is the only world leader who has expressed condolences with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif over the death of his mother.
Nawaz Sharif is currently in London where he went last year on medical grounds and is yet to return.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also sent a condolence letter to Nawaz Sharif over the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in 2018.
