Hammad Azhar named PTI Punjab acting president

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab general secretary Hammad Azhar has been given additional charge of acting president of PTI Punjab with immediate effect, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a notification issued by PTI Central General Secretary Omar Ayoub Khan, Mian Hammad Azhar will hold the portfolio till the time Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, PTI Punjab President assumes her office.

Presently, Dr Yasmeen Rashid is behind bars and facing charges of hate speech against the state institutions and involvement in attacks on Jinnah House during the May 9 protests.
