Religious scholar gunned down in Peshawar

Famous religious scholar Sheikh Abdul Hameed was gunned down in Peshawar by unknown assailants on Monday. His brother also received bullet wounds in the attack, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, two motorcyclists opened fire on renowned Ahle Hadith scholar Sheikh Abdul Hameed Bin Al-Sheikh Ghulam Allah and his brother. As a result, Sheikh Hameed died on the spot while his brother got injured in the attack.
After getting information, police rushed to the scene and provided first aid to the injured. They shifted the body of the Sheikh to the hospital for post mortem while his wounded brother was also shifted to the hospital. The police team started collecting evidence from the crime scene.
A large number of the police force is present in the area and they are combing the whole area in search of the assailants.
In order to identify the culprits, police are also watching CCTV footage.
Police have registered the case of Sheikh’s murder in the Faqirabad police station.
The slain religious scholar was the Naib Amir of central Jamiat Ahle Hadith in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was Nazim and Sheikh of Jamia Darul Quran and Hadith Al Salfia Qaziabad, Peshawar.
The Maulana’s assassination was greatly mourned by leaders of Ahle Hadith including Ehtisham Elahi Zaheer, Senator Maulana Sajid Mir and others.
