Funeral prayers of Major Syed Rab Nawaz offered, laid to rest in Muzaffarabad 

The funeral prayers of an army officer Major Syed Rab Nawaz, who was martyred during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan's Awaran district, was offered in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammua Kashmir on Thursday, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

The funeral prayers of Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed was offered at Khursheed Hassan Khursheed Ground in his hometown Muzaffarabad and later laid to rest with military protocols. 

AJK Prime Minister Ch Anwar ul Haq, Speaker Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar and government ministers also attended the funeral prayers of Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed. High civil and military officials also attended the funeral prayers. 

On the occasion, PM Azad Kashmir met the family of Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed and offered condolences. 

AJK Prime Minister paid rich tribute to Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed by saying that the entire nation was proud of Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed. Ch Anwarul Haq also saluted the martyr for sacrificing his life for the country. The sacrifices of the armed forces of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism will always be remembered, Azad Kashmir Prime Minister observed. 

According to ISPR, the operation was launched in Awaran district following reports of the presence of terrorists affiliated with “Fitna al-Hindustan,” described as an Indian proxy group. During the exchange of fire, security forces engaged the militants, resulting in the killing of three “Indian-sponsored terrorists.”

Major Syed Rabnawaz Tariq, 34, a resident of Muzaffarabad, was martyred during the fierce gun battle. The ISPR hailed him as a “brave officer who led his troops from the front” and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

In the aftermath of the clash, a sanitization operation was initiated to clear the area of any remaining militants.
