IHC to hear contempt petitions in 190 million pounds case tomorrow

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is set to hear contempt of court petitions in the high-profile 190 million pounds case tomorrow, involving former prime minister Imran Khan’s legal camp and the administration of Adiala Jail.

According to the case schedule, contempt petitions have been filed against the Superintendent of Adiala Jail by petitioners identified as Bani and Bushra Bibi. The petitions were initially fixed for hearing despite objections raised by the Registrar’s Office of the Islamabad High Court.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the matter.

The contempt petitions were filed on the basis that the legal applications submitted by Bani and Bushra Bibi’s counsel did not bear proper signatures, raising procedural objections during earlier proceedings.

In addition to the contempt matter, the main appeals in the 190 million pounds case are also scheduled for hearing tomorrow.

The court has issued a final deadline to the lawyers representing Bani and Bushra Bibi, directing them to present their arguments by the next hearing date without further delay.

The 190 million pounds case remains one of the most closely watched legal proceedings, with multiple petitions and appeals currently under judicial consideration.
