Women, residents of a poor and backward area Mahboob Colony Chishtian protested against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's Negh-e-ban programme saying deserving and poor families were not given rashan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

They were complaining that those who were entitled to get rashan, distributed by the government have not been delivered to them and have been given to people of their own choice.

They should have distributed this ration to the poor but it has been given to those who are rich, said a poor woman.

The protestants said that they checked our cards first declaring qualified for ration and then disqualified them.

Some were given two packets but some were given not even a single packet of rashan, said a poor woman.

I am a widow, but they did not give me ration, am I eligible to vote, not for ration, widow woman said.

The women demonstrators appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to think about poor people who are worried for one time livelihood.
