Jaffar Express escapes tragedy as railway track blown up in Shikarpur

An explosion occurred on a railway track near Sultan Kot in Shikarpur shortly after the passage of the Jaffar Express, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to police, the train — travelling from Quetta to Peshawar — had safely crossed the affected section of the track before the blast took place. Authorities stated that all passengers remained unharmed and no casualties were reported.

Law enforcement officials said police and rescue teams rushed to the site immediately after receiving information about the incident. The area was swiftly cordoned off, with security personnel surrounding the location from all sides to ensure safety and prevent any further risk.

A bomb disposal squad was also dispatched to determine the nature and cause of the explosion. Initial reports suggest that the blast occurred moments after the train had passed, averting what could have been a major tragedy.

Investigations are underway to ascertain whether the explosion was an act of sabotage or caused by other factors.

Railway operations in the area are being closely monitored as authorities assess the situation. Officials have assured that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain security on railway tracks and ensure the safety of passengers across the network.
