Punjab govt announces major bureaucratic reshuffle ahead of Eid

The Punjab government on Tuesday announced a wide-ranging reshuffle in the provincial bureaucracy, issuing orders for multiple transfers and postings across various departments and districts just a few days before Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to official notifications, Muhammad Faisal Saleem has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Additional Chief Secretary, while Asadullah has been appointed as Additional Secretary (Admin) in the Communication and Works Department.

Khurram Pervez has been posted to the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company (PRMSC) and Rana Musa Tahir has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Finance Department.

Several appointments have been made at the district level, with Sherina Ghulam Murtaza Junejo posted as ADCR in Faisalabad, Ahmed Haroon as ADCR in Sargodha and Sarah Loni as ADCR in Narowal. Similarly, Shagufta Jabeen has been posted as ADCR in Bahawalpur, Muhammad Fazal Abbas in Khanewal and Marhaba Naimat in Sahiwal.

In the wildlife sector, Fahad Mahmood has been appointed as Additional Chief of the Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department. Captain (R) Sami Tayyab Khan has been posted to the Lahore Development Authority, while Captain (R) Osama Majeed has been assigned to the Punjab Food Authority.

Administrative changes also include Saria Haider, ADCR Mianwali, being made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), with Mohammad Shahid appointed in her place. Zainab Jehandad has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Interior Department, while Muhammad Kamran Afzal has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Local Government Department.

Alizeh Rehan has been appointed as DCG in Jhelum and Anwar Ali has been posted as ADCG in Faisalabad. Anam Babar has been named Deputy Secretary in the Specialized Healthcare Department, while Sufyan Dilawar has been posted as ADCG in Nankana Sahib.

Further changes include Labah Masih Zeeshan, ADCG Toba Tek Singh, being made OSD, with Tariq Usman appointed in the role. Ghulam Mustafa, ADCG Bahawalpur, has also been directed to report as OSD, while Ayesha Khan has been posted as ADCG Bahawalpur.

Additionally, Ahmed Raza Butt has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Energy Department.

The large-scale reshuffle is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and strengthening governance across the province, with officials expected to assume their new responsibilities immediately.
