Sonya Hussyn expresses disappointment over girls’ hair dance at Trump's arrival in UAE

Popular Pakistani actress Sonya Hussyn has expressed disappointment over a young girl’s hair-tossing dance during American President Donald Trump's latest visit to the UAE.

In case the readers are not aware, Donald Trump has concluded his Gulf visit in Abu Dhabi, where he was honored by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, children waving both countries UAE and US flags in order to give him a warm welcome, and girls performing a traditional dance featuring them moving their heads from side to side to make their long and black hair “dance”.

Sharing the video of Donald Trump’s warm welcome on social media, Sonya showed disbelief by writing: “Is this for real?” She also dropped sad emoticons in the addition.

Some social media users joined her with the same opinion and bashed the questionable tradition of Arabs, while some took this practice otherwise.

“Is there a traditional dance girl...kuch bi matlab kuch bi,” a fan wrote.

“It’s part of their culture that we perform traditional dances while welcoming guests at events. It might seem strange to others, too,” another fan added.

A fan criticized the ritual by saying: “ They are showcasing women as their toy for entertainment. Shameful act by UAE.”

It is important to mention that the abovementioned dance performed by young girls is known as Al Ayyala. It is usually performed on special occasions and social celebrations.
