Pakistan-Afghan annual trade plummets by 54pc

Trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan registered a 54 percent decrease yearly basis and 36 percent monthly basis during October 2025, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Monday.

During September 2025, Pakistan exported 28 percent fewer goods to Afghanistan.

Pakistani exports to Afghanistan recorded a 55 percent decline in October on an annual basis. 

As per government sources, imports from Afghanistan were down 42 percent in October compared to the same period last year.

Imports from Afghanistan drop 53 percent year-on-year in October 2025. In October 2025, the volume of Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral trade was $114 million.

Pakistani exports to Afghanistan stood at $59 million in October 2025. Pakistani exports to Afghanistan were $81 million in 2025.

The volume of Pakistani exports to Afghanistan in October 2024 was $130 million. Pakistani imports from Afghanistan stood at $55 million in October 2025.

The volume of imports from Afghanistan in September 2025 was $96 million. The volume of imports from Afghanistan in October 2024 was $117 million.

The Torkham border has still been closed for all kinds of trade activities since October 12, 2025.
