Firstly Ramazan Mubarak! Ramazan is the perfect occasion to develop ever-lasting habits designed to suit our physical and mental wellness. However, we though try to align our positive affirmations this holy month but by just focusing on the religious aspect of the month sometimes our health tends to deteriorate.

Balance is a wonderful concept and is something that keeps us on top of everything worth fighting for. Yes, we should make religious resolutions this divine month but neglecting our health by indulging in unhealthy food items? Not a good idea. Well, these are just some examples.

In this article, we will help you through developing a few soulful and mindful practices this month which should be considered as well.

Firstly let’s focus on the basic antics you NEED to follow and include in your schedule this month and with determination maybe follow all year long?

Stay hydrated! Can’t emphasize enough how important it is to drink at least eight glasses of water from Iftar to Sehar. However, if you are someone who does not like water as it is bland, try incorporating a few mint leaves, berries, cucumber slices or lemon in your water bottle to give it some taste.

Haven’t we all heard that a ‘proper night’s sleep’ sets the tone for the whole day? It keeps our mind fresh and gives us enough energy to carry out productive tasks throughout the day. Try and incorporate a 6 to 8 hours sleep in your schedule. Make it a must.

Do not neglect your health during Ramazan. Have a balanced Iftar which consists of the right fix of every nutrient we need in our diet. Try to avoid fried foods and focus mainly on a diet that is extremely nourishing for both body and mind.

During the day, include a bit of physical activity. Download a step tracking application in your phone or buy a smart-watch which tracks step. Start with 2500 steps a day and gradually increase the intensity of your exercise and the step count day by day. This aids in digestion, a healthier lifestyle, a peaceful mind and a smarter appearance.

Do not miss Sehar. It is essential to wake up for Sehar and have a proper meal in order to fast effortlessly, maintain a healthy blood sugar and also maintain your health. Try and have a balanced healthy Sehar as well. Balance is the key!
