Delivery of Ramadan Cards in Punjab far from meeting target

The distribution of Ramadan Nigehban Cards among poor and needy people in Punjab is going at a snail’s pace and as per official data, the distribution is way behind the target, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

As per the official stats and figures, three million cards had to be delivered to deserving families, but so far only 285,000 have been delivered.

Sources told the 24News TV channel that so far over 1.7 million cards had been printed and more than 1.1 million had been received at the offices of the deputy commissioners (DCs).

They informed that the cards were ready at the offices, but their delivery was going at a snail’s pace.

The government of Punjab had given the target of distribution of 100,000 cards daily.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday took notice of the slow delivery of these cards and ordered their speedy delivery.
