Electricity supply to five govt colleges disconnected by Lesco

Lahore Electricity Supply Company (Lesco) on Wednesday disconnected electricity supply to five government colleges for not clearing outstanding dues from two months in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, Higher Education Commission (HEC) was providing cheap electricity to these colleges.
The colleges include Government Shah Hussain College, Township Commerce College, Government Graduate College of Commerce Ravi Block Allama Iqbal Town and other colleges.
Director Colleges Ahsan Mukhtar said that Punjab government failed to release funds to the colleges till January 10, 2026.
Now they forwarded an application to Higher Education Commission demanding for early release of outstanding funds.
