Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has told PDM leaders that for the first time they are being allowed inside the Red Zone for a protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) building, but they will also have to show responsibility, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said there will be no containers, no other hurdle in their way. “We will give them a free hand since the protest is their right,” he said, but in the same breath added that they should also bear in mind that there was a limit to protest and that they would not take law into their own hands.
Rashid said that the government would defend the ECP building as well as other buildings during the opposition’s protest.
However, he warned the JUI-F against bringing seminary students to the protest venue. “We will take action against the concerned seminaries if that happens,” he said.
He said Rawalpindi and Islamabad were on red alert since December 15.
The minister said that each and every detail of Broadsheet would be made public which would ruin the opposition leaders’ future.
Rashid said that he was sure opposition leaders would be sentenced in money laundering cases.
He was of the view that opposition, not PTI, would have to face the music in foreign funding cases.
He told Maulana Fazlur Rehman the opposition alliance had no political future since his so-called allies would leave him alone.
