Seven more doctors contracted coronavirus in last 24 hours – taking the affected docs' tally to 10,067 across the country, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday. 

According to sources in the health department, a total of 16,832 medics, including 2,398 nurses and 4,367 staffers, has so far been tested coronavirus positive.

The virus has claimed 164 lives of the health workers, the insiders said, adding that most of the deaths were reported in Sindh where 57 officials died, followed by KP with 44 deaths. 

They said 29 deaths were reported in Punjab, and 13 in Islamabad, nine in Balochistan, three in GB and nine in AJK.

The insiders said that 390 health workers are being under treatment at homes while 28 are hospitalised and 16,250 staff have recovered.
