Nawaz shows solidarity with Javed Hashmi
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken to social media to show solidarity with noted politician Javed Hashmi over the latter’s house demolition.
Tarnishing the sanctity of Hashmi's house is a shameful example of state oppression, Nawaz Sharif tweeted on Tuesday. Such an act is the worst form of fascism, he added.

Backed by heavy police, the local admin allegedly demolished Hashmi’s house but the deputy commissioner rejected the allegations, insisting that a part of Hashmi’s house is built on the Auqaf Department’s land but his house was not demolished.
Hashmi said he has been living at his ancestral house for 40 years and the demolition has been done without presenting any notice or legal proceedings. The police sealed all routes leading to his house for up to hours and nobody was allowed to get in the area.
