Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman has come down hard on the judiciary for protecting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

“Our patience should not be tested. We have shown patience. We remained polite in response to riots,” he said adding that this situation is inviting public ire which cannot be ignored.

The PTI members took to the streets to vent their spleen against the arrest of ex-PM Imran Khan in a corruption case last week. The angry protesters damaged public property and attacked state assets as well as sensitive installations.

They stormed GHQ in Rawalpindi, Corps Commander House in Lahore and Radio Pakistani in Peshawar. However, the court declared the arrest of Imran Khan illegal and unlawful.

Fazl raised questions like why courts are providing protection to Imran Khan whom America and the Jewish lobby are backing, why the PTI miscreants are being protected and why these terrorists are being facilitated.

He said a certificate was given by the court that he cannot be arrested in any case including murder. The PDM protested and if this situation continues, it will be a declaration of war by the courts against the nation, the JUI chief stressed.

He continued: “The courts are playing with the constitution and law of the country for a ‘blue eyed’. There is no example of the way in which the morale of criminals is being boosted by the Supreme Court, Lahore High Court and Islamabad High Court.

“A criminal was brought in a VVIP way in the Mercedes of the Supreme Court. These actions are tarnishing the prestige of the top court.

“An unnecessary element in Pakistan's politics is being protected under a special agenda. It clearly means that an institution is weakening the state.

“Which judge is in touch with the criminal, who is from which lobby, we are not naming anyone at this time.  We are not newborns in politics.

“The nexus of Imran Khan's backers has been exposed. Our tolerance and public patience people should not be tested. The law should be the same for all.”
