11th Vice Admiral H.M.S. Chaudhry Amateur Golf Cup 2025 to kick off on Nov 20

The Pakistan Navy has announced the commencement of registrations for the 11th Vice Admiral H.M.S. Chaudhry Amateur Golf Cup 2025, scheduled to be held from 20 to 23 November at the Defence Raya Golf and Country Club in Lahore.

A media briefing was held at PN War College, where Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmad Azmie, Commander Central Punjab, shared details of the tournament.

He said the championship has “gained significant importance” over the years and continues to attract the country’s top amateur golfers.

Rear Admiral Azmie said the golfers from across Pakistan have shown great enthusiasm, with early registrations reflecting the event’s growing prestige.

He praised the performance of players in previous editions, adding that valuable prizes await participants this year as well.

He thanked the management of Defence Raya Golf and Country Club for their support in hosting and preparing for the tournament. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Pakistan Navy team and appreciated players traveling from other cities to take part.

The championship will feature three main categories:

Amateurs (handicap 10 or below): 54 holes over three days (18 holes daily)

Ladies (handicap 24 or below): 18-hole competition

Senior Amateurs (handicap 12 or below): 36 holes over two days

Rear Admiral Azmie highlighted that several past winners of CNS Amateur Golf Cups, including Ahmad Baig and Ghazanfar Mahmood, have since transitioned into professional golf and now hold leading positions in the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) rankings.

He reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to promoting sports, particularly golf, noting that consecutive championships have been held in Lahore since 2011.

He added that Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, who is deeply passionate about sports, has issued special directives to ensure the successful conduct of this year’s event.

The opening ceremony will take place on 20 November, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for 23 November 2025.

Rear Admiral Azmie concluded by expressing gratitude to the Defence Raya management and event sponsors for their continued support.
