The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics Tuesday registered a decrease in imports of mobile phones, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Imports of mobile phones decreased by 56 percent from July to September.

In the first quarter of the financial year, the mobile phone import cost Rs35.9 while, in the same period last year, it cost over Rs81.

Mobile phone imports fell by 61.68 percent in September as compared to the last year.

The volume of imports of mobile phones in September was up to Rs13b.
