Punjab govt increases budget of Energy Conservation Program to Rs8.5 billion 

Punjab government has approved revised cost of Energy Conservation Program and the cost of program has been increased from Rs3.6 billion to Rs8.5 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Punjab Cabinet approved release of additional funds of Rs 5.867 billion in the current fiscal year. The funds will be provided as supplementary grant under intersectoral reappropriation. 

The Finance Department and P&D Board have completed the arrangements for the provision of funds. The Punjab government has extended the project period till November 30, 2025. 

Energy Conservation Program will help in achieving the goals of efficient use of energy and saving. The government aims at ensuring the efficient and transparent use of energy resources.
