Inflation in Pakistan reaches historical highest level of 42.31

The Bureau of Statistics on Friday released a weekly inflation report and disclosed that inflation has reached the highest level of 42.31 per cent in the country's history.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the bureau report said that the inflation rate increased by 3.35 per cent and the overall rate touched the figure of 42.31 per cent this week in Pakistan.
The Bureau of Statistics said that the prices of 25 essential commodities were increased, 11 items were decreased and 15 remained stable.
The bureau report said the electricity charges increased by 68 paise from Rs 9.08 to Rs 9.70 per unit while petrol prices have also increased in recent weeks.
In a week, tomatoes became expensive by Rs18.55 per kilogram and chicken prices increased by Rs19.12 per kg, the report said.
As per the weekly statistics, prices of flour, mutton, onion, and milk were also increased.
