A case of attack on Karachi Police Office (KPO) was registered at Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station on the complaint of the station house officer (SHO) of Saddr police station, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The provisions of terrorism, murder, and attempted murder were included in the case.

“The terrorists entered the office by cutting the wire installed on the rear wall of the family quarters of Saddr Police Lines,” the text of the first information report (FIR) read.

“Three terrorists had reached Saddr Police Lines in a car. One of them was shot dead on the fourth floor while another was killed on rooftop in a retaliatory action by police,” it added.

The complainant said that he had received information about the attack at 7:15 PM through wireless device, adding that he had arrived at the scene at 7:20 PM and called the police squad.

Meanwhile, children of the area said that they had seen the terrorists entering the KPO from the rear way.

“When we came after Maghrib prayers, the terrorists stood by the wall. They parked the car on the street corner and moved forward,” they said.

“They jumped over the wall and went in. One of their accomplices stood on guard at the corner of the street. They attackers had first martyred a policeman,” they added.

Earlier, Pakistan Army on Saturday took control of the Karachi Police Office and its teams started investigation into the Friday's terror attack as the three assailants had been identified.

The Pakistan Army investigation teams examined the incident site. The snipers of the Army were still deputed on rooftops and around the Karachi Police Office.

The alleged terrorists who were involved in the audacious attack on the Karachi police compound the other night had been identified.

One militant who blew himself up during the storming of the police compound had been identified as Zala Noor, a resident of North Waziristan and the other terrorist who was shot dead by the firing of security forces had been identified as Kafayat Ullah. He hailed from Lakki Marwat. The third terrorist was also a resident of Dattakhel in North Waziristan.

Death toll in KPO attack rises to five

The number of martyrs in the Karachi Police Office (KPO) attack has risen to five.

Another constable, who was injured in the attack, succumbed to his wounds, police said.
