The country’s top court has sought written recommendations from advocate generals and a progress report from IG Islamabad about attacks on journalists, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The woman, who has no public life, was humiliated, the AG argued during the hearing of a sue moto notice of journalist’ harassment. A three-member SC bench, headed by Justice Ejazul Hasan heard the case.

Journalists are also harassed by non-state actors and restrictions be placed on everyone, not just journalists. The bench questioned if the martial law era’s deed could be rectified.

Justice Qazi asked the federal capital police chief if th4ey made an arrest in case of an attack on a noted journalist, the Islamabad IG said they were trying to trace the accused with fingerprints and videos.

Justice Qazi Mohammad Amin said, "IG, you are a very capable officer. There are cameras all over the city but the shooter is not being identified."  Further hearing of the case was adjourned indefinitely.
