Dense fog at Lahore Airport, international flights diverted to Islamabad
Thick fog around Lahore Airport reduced runway visibility to just 100 meters, causing significant disruptions to flight operations, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Four international flights were diverted to Islamabad Airport due to poor visibility, leaving passengers stranded.
Qatar Airways flight QR 628 from Doha to Lahore was redirected to Islamabad. Flight PA 431 from Abu Dhabi to Lahore also had to land in Islamabad.
Air Sial flight PF 727 from Jeddah faced similar issues and was rerouted to Islamabad. Similarly, Airblue flight PA 417 from Dubai was diverted.
Additionally, Saudi Airlines flight SV 734 from Jeddah experienced severe difficulty in landing, circling the airspace multiple times before being redirected to Islamabad Airport.
The dense fog has highlighted challenges in air travel during the winter, with passengers urged to stay updated on flight schedules.
