PM Shehbaz announces nationwide CPR training plan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a nationwide training programme of health Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to save human lives in emergency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Shehbaz Sharif directed the head of Strategic Reforms Unit, Salman Sufi, to initiate the plan immediately to save people.
Salman Sufi, in a statement, said CPR training programme of international standard will help save lives of people. He said CPR will also be included in curriculum at school level besides training of every citizen during the campaign.
Salman Sufi said an action plan for nationwide training drive will be announced next week. He further said that Prime Minister would announce a reform programme in health sector in coming days and CPR training is first step to this direction.
In a statement on Sunday, Salman Sufi said the prime minister had issued direction to PM’s Strategic Reforms to immediately launch the initiative. He said that CPR had saved countless lives around the world at places where immediate medical assistance was limited.
The cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique helpful in different emergencies, such as in case of a heart attack or near drowning, leading to chocking of someone’s breathing or heartbeat.

Prime Minister Sharif had ensured meritocracy in the health sector, provision of quality education of international standards and construction of health facilities in Punjab province, Sufi added.
After assuming the office of prime minister, Sufi said, Shehbaz Sharif was launching health reforms programme at the national level and the CPR training campaign to save lives was the first phase of this reforms agenda.
