Court grants physical remand of 25 students arrested in fake passports case

A court in Islamabad has granted two-day physical remand of 25 students arrested in a case of attempting to settle in the UK on fake passports and visas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has produced 25 students in court. The students are accused of tampering with passports and trying to go to the UK and settle there.

According to sources, a request was made to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the British High Commission against the accused.

On the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the FIA ​​took action against the accused, sources said.

The accused were presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal.

The accused's lawyers complain about FIA officers in the court saying that they have caught the innocent students while the real forgery was done by the agent but not all FIA officers catch those agents. 

The FIA investigation officer replied these are the accused and they are the real beneficiary because they who try to get out of country by using this games. 

The agents say it is a game of Rs5 or Rs6 million and they give it happily, Investigation Officer said.

These are students, not children and don't they know what a "game" is? Investigation Officer questioned.

The investigation officer has requested 14 days of physical remand for investigation. 

The court has granted two-day of physical remand for investigation. The accused will be produced in court again on January 21.
