SECP posts 31pc growth in registration of new companies
The Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has reported a 21 percent increase in the registration of new companies in Pakistan, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Tuesday.
Security and Exchange Commission Executive Director Mussarrat Jabeen said that the SECP is taking measures to ensure the revenue stream complies with the latest standards.
She said that SECP registered 10,511 new companies from February to April 2026 which is 21 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
It is the first time in history that 4,082 new companies were registered during a one-month period. She said 22 foreign investors established their companies in Pakistan, which also enhanced investment in the country.
The revenue of foreign shareholder companies reached to Rs882 million, which is 218 percent more than the previous year.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Central Depository System, Badiuddin Akbar, said that Pakistan emerged as the best performing country in Asia.
He said that investors' eyes to achieve Rs2.5 million through investment.
The increase in trade and investment opportunities showed digitalization of economy and solid progress.
