Saudi Arabia commends Pakistan's role in giving legal status to Burmese Muslims

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi called on Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malkiy at Saudi embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest and security issues, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Saudi envoy, on the occasion, thanked the government of Pakistan for playing a role in resolving the longstanding issue of giving legal status to the Burmese Muslims.

In this connection, an agreement will be formally signed in Saudi Arabia next week.

Both Naqvi and Al-Malkiy also discussed expanding cooperation between the interior ministries of both the countries.

Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi envoy said that the people of Saudi Arabia were proud of their strong ties with the people of Pakistan.

He also expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of lives in the Judicial Complex, Islamabad suicide blast.

Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha was also present at the meeting.
