UAE introduces Golden Visa category for endowment donors

The United Arab Emirates has announced a new Golden Visa category for endowment donors, recognizing individuals who contribute to humanitarian and charitable causes under the country’s endowment framework.

In a statement, GDRFA-Dubai said the partnership aligns with its commitment to strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub of tolerance, philanthropy, and humanitarian work.

It also supports efforts to make the emirate “the most sustainable and human-centered city in the world.”

The initiative follows the signing of a cooperation agreement between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (Awqaf Dubai).

The agreement, signed during GITEX Global 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, aims to support individuals engaged in humanitarian and philanthropic activities and strengthen institutional collaboration in this field.

According to officials, the initiative seeks to integrate humanitarian work into Dubai’s broader social and developmental ecosystem, reinforcing the city’s commitment to sustainability, community service, and global leadership in social responsibility.

Lt-Gen Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, said the collaboration represents “an advanced model of governmental integration aimed at empowering endowers to contribute to community development through impactful initiatives that promote the values of giving and sustainability.”

Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, described the move as a reflection of Dubai’s vision to elevate endowment work as a key driver of sustainable development, recognising donors’ role in fostering solidarity and social responsibility.
