Passengers on Saturday staged a protest at Islamabad Airport after an AirBlue flight getting ready for Saudi Arabia was cancelled minutes before take-off, multiplying the difficulties of the travellers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As many as 220 passengers were to travel from Islamabad to Jeddah and they were in the international briefing area after completing the boarding process when the flight was cancelled.

The cancellation of the flight at the eleventh hour infuriated the passengers who staged a protest demonstration at the Islamabad International Airport.

AirBlue Operations Manager, however, informed that the flight was cancelled on the orders of the Saudi Arabian government.
