Ruling coalition maneuvering to put off polls: PTI

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders have lashed out at the ruling coalition partners for what they called manoeuvring to put off polls, 24NewshHD TV channel reported.  

"The PDM government ran away from the election," former PTI ministers Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Fawad Ch told the media outside the Supreme Court.

The top court summoned the leaders of the political parties and asked the politicians to go for negotiations on elections and report to it. The political leaders assured the court of abiding by the directives to hold talks and added the court order.

“Today, the entire nation saw that the PDM government escaped from the Supreme Court,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, adding that cracks in the coalition are visible and all allied parties on one side and JUI on the other.

He continued: "Maulana Fazlur Rahman refused to come here. Bilawal's visit to DIK failed to bear fruit. PDM leadership is confusing. We are ready for negotiations. Today, the nation has seen who is serious and who is not."

In its written order the top court mentioned Farooq Naik and the Attorney General’s meeting with judges in their chamber where they assured the court of holding talks on the matter.  “The political parties appeared in the Supreme Court and reiterated their determination that the Constitution is supreme.”
