Loralai police foil major terror plot, seize explosives in intelligence-based operation

Police in Balochistan’s Loralai district foiled a major terror plot following a timely intelligence-based operation in the Porai Tak area, officials said on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, a significant cache of explosives was recovered during the operation, including approximately 10 kilograms of TNT, 8 kilograms of black explosives, and four improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The seized material also comprised 11 detonators, six metres of safety fuse, submachine gun (SMG) rounds, ball bearings, and other explosive components, indicating preparations for large-scale sabotage.

The DIG said the terrorists were planning to transport the explosives to different parts of the district to carry out coordinated attacks. However, prompt action by law enforcement agencies thwarted the plan and averted a potential tragedy.

He added that the success of the operation reflects the effective strategy and vigilance of security forces and police. A search operation in the area has been intensified to trace and apprehend those involved.

DIG Sheikh reiterated that the police remain alert to protect lives and property, vowing that no anti-state element would be allowed to succeed.
