Counterfeit currency printing operation busted in Lahore

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspect involved in the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit Pakistani currency during a major operation carried out by its Lahore Zone, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday. 

According to an FIA spokesperson, the crackdown on counterfeit currency networks is ongoing.

As part of this campaign, FIA officials conducted a surprise raid in Bahria Town, Lahore, where the accused was apprehended.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Walid Hashmi.

Officials said he was caught red-handed while actively printing fake Pakistani currency notes during the operation.

A large quantity of material used in the preparation of counterfeit currency was recovered from the suspect’s possession.

 The seized items include various types of chemicals, special papers, and digital devices used in the counterfeiting process.

The suspect has been taken into custody, and further investigation has been initiated to uncover the extent of the operation and identify other individuals involved in the illegal activity.
