The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday ordered the government to appoint a new CEO (chief operating officer) of the Pakistan International Airlines.
Hearing the case about PIA CEO appointment, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed observed that Air Marshal Arshad Khan should either serve the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) or the PIA.
He also observed that the facilities in the national flag carrier, PIA, are misused.
The CJP said that four planes of the airline went missing and remain unaccounted for while the administration has no clue about those aircraft.
The PIA had submitted a report on one of the four planes in a hearing of the missing plane case on Wednesday.
The airline in its reply submitted in the court said that the plane was not missing but sold for 103,000 dollars.
