Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Chairman Malik Amjad Ali Noon has tendered resignation from his post alleging serious allegations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
He cited arguments that in the near future, corruption, dishonesty and filth is the only thing that he is looking for and does not want to be a part of it.
Noon alleged that the corrupt mafia is sharing the ratio of contracts of Rs110 billion in LWMC. He said it is better to resign than serve when there were immense differences at top level like between Chief Minister Secretariat and Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal.
Noon alleged that the corrupt mafia is interfering in the affairs of LWMC to secure its vested interests.
PTI leader Noon said he accepted the LWMC chairmanship as honorary without any salary. “I cleared the backlog of LWMC twice,” he further said in his resignation letter.
He said he does not want to be a part of dirtiness in the future so decided to resign.
It is pertinent to mention that Malik Amjad Ali Noon was appointed Chairman of LWMC in September 2020.
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had tasked the LWMC chairman to ensure the best cleanliness arrangements in the city and authorised him to select a new team for the cleanliness operation.
