PM Office takes direct control of PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will now work directly under the prime minister’s office as it has been put out of the domain of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

The decision has been taken by the caretaker federal government, saying the prime minister, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the board, will oversee the matters.

The PCB is no longer answerable to the ministry and the IPC secretary will also no longer be a member of the PCB Board of Governors after the decision.

Now the PCB will be answerable to the cabinet division.

In the past, IPC ministry was used to interfere in the PCB’s matters and had put a sword on the former chiefs Najm Sethi and Zaka Ashraf.
