Bella Hadid braves hair rollers in NYC snow

Bella Hadid turned heads in freezing New York City on Monday, stepping into the snowy East Coast weather while heading to a photo shoot in Midtown Manhattan, her hair still wrapped in bright orange rollers.

The 29-year-old supermodel, who has recently accused Dolce & Gabbana of racism, layered up against the cold in a red varsity-style bomber jacket topped with a brown faux fur coat. Despite the wintry conditions, she maintained her trademark glamour, arriving in full makeup and oversized black sunglasses as she prepared for her modeling assignment.

Her look was completed with belted white trousers and black sneakers, blending practicality with high-fashion ease as she moved through the city streets.

The appearance came shortly after the Vogue cover star opened up about her transition into acting and the support she received from her co-stars on The Beauty, Ryan Murphy’s upcoming sci-fi body horror series. Speaking to People magazine at the show’s New York City premiere, Hadid reflected on the advice she received from more seasoned actors, including Jeremy Pope and Ashton Kutcher.

"They were able to just tell me a lot of words and wisdom and explain to me that even being crazy and weird is still positive," she said. "And sometimes things are embarrassing and at the end of the day, it's not embarrassing."

She went on to explain how the experience helped her embrace different sides of herself. "We're all able to be different versions of ourselves and that's what was most important for me on this set."

Although she often filmed her scenes separately from her fellow cast members, Hadid said their presence still made a lasting impression. She described the experience as "so impactful."

"Ashton was so helpful with just little words. I love Jeremy so much, everybody was just so welcoming to me," she said. "We were not really shooting on the same sets most of the time. We had one dinner together, which was awesome."

In the FX series, Hadid takes on the role of a model who goes on a murderous rampage, a part that marks a dramatic shift from her fashion career. She has expressed hopes that the project will open the door to more acting roles. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she said: "I would love to keep continuing acting after this. This is a dream of mine."

"I’ve brought my art side and my creativity to modeling, but at the end of the day, I love being able to move, and I love film and acting in general. I love actors because they can be different characters for so many different people."

Hadid also praised Murphy, best known for creating American Horror Story, for his vision and mentorship on set. "Ryan has just an incredible brain. I love his brain. I love his heart," she said.

"He’s somebody I really look up to when it comes to directing, and I think he brings fantasy into so many things. I’m just grateful that he brought me onto this opportunity."

The model-turned-actress revealed that she deliberately wanted the role to challenge her image and push her beyond familiar territory. She said she had asked Murphy to transform her appearance entirely.

"When I spoke to Ryan in the beginning, it was very much about being able to go out of my comfort zone," she explained.

"I said: "Ryan, I want you to make me look haggard." I never want to be the girl next door. I told all of my agents."

Reflecting on the experience, Hadid added: "I think I definitely went out of my comfort zone in many different ways. But he pushed me to be a different version of myself, which I've always wanted to do."
