A marriage hall in Gujranwala turned into a battlefield when the first wife of the man, who was going to marry for the third time, stormed into the hall to stop the wedding ceremony, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Unruly scenes were witnessed for around three hours as men accompanying the woman and friends and relatives of the groom called each other names, exchanged blows with each other and even then when they did not cool down threw chairs at each other to vent their anger.

Several persons were injured during the brawl, and as often is the case police reached late to bring the situation under control.

When asked about the reason for this act, the woman replied that she had not granted her husband permission for the third marriage.

Footage of the incident has surfaced which clearly shows how people punched and kicked each other without any fear of being caught, and turned the marriage hall virtually into a battlefield.
