Love Guru beats Housefull 5 within two weeks
Pakistani top-trending movie Love Guru has once again caused a storm at the box office by surpassing Bollywood’s megahit Housefull 5 by £19k mere in two weeks of its release. The Indian movie, starring acclaimed actor Akshay Kumar, earned £56k at the UK Box Office during its second weekend. In contrast, superstar Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan’s latest movie, Love Guru, luckily bagged £75k in the same period.
With a total gross of £266,000 (more than PKR 10 crore) in just nine days, the blockbuster Pakistani film is currently raking in the dough.
In case the readers are not aware, the film has previously the Pakistani film outperformed the former blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt, which made Rs110 million in its first week. In contrast, Love Guru garnered Rs120 million during the same period, setting a new benchmark for the Pakistani cinema.

With this latest achievement, Love Guru not only reinforces the box office pull of its stars but also signals renewed momentum for Pakistan’s film industry on the global stage.
Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed have promoted Love Guru extensively in international markets, including the UK and the US, generating strong buzz and attracting large audiences.
At one promotional event, Mahira Khan expressed her hopes for the film to cross the Rs1 billion mark at the box office. "Everyone say Ameen," she urged, turning to the audience.
During the same event, Humayun Saeed praised the film’s director, Nadeem Baig, saying, "He is the best director in the country." He added humorously, "He charges me full price, but he’s worth it."
