Rangers arrest hardened terrorist from Karachi

Pakistan Rangers have arrested a most-wanted terrorist during a crackdown in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The terrorist who was identified as Javed Ali Khan alias Swati, son of Raham Bacha, was arrested from Shah Latif Town in Malir area of Karachi. He is a resident of Swat.

The arrested terrorist was involved in serious criminal activities. Later, he was handed over to the Swat Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

Terrorist Javed Ali Khan joined Fazlullah Group of Fitna al-Khwarij in 2007. Some time later, he, along with local commander Iqbal Hussain alias Abu Tarab, Raza Khan, Akhtar, torched the government arms and ammunition depot in Matta Police Station.

He also laid an IED in the School Shakir Dairy and attacked the Police Chowki Shakardarah. Terrorist Javed grabbed the property of some influential persons in the area.

In 2008, during an Army operation, he escaped abroad. In 2022, he returned from abroad and started terrorist activities again.

Authorities said the suspect joined the Fazlullah group of Fitna Al-Khawarij in 2007 and was allegedly involved in several terrorist activities alongside other militants, including attacks on government institutions and law enforcement facilities in Swat. He is accused of participating in the destruction of government schools through improvised explosive devices (IEDs), attacking Matta Police Station, looting official weapons, and setting the police station on fire.

The arrested suspect is also alleged to have been involved in land grabbing and looting activities targeting influential local residents in the area.

According to investigators, he went into hiding in Mingora during military operations in 2008 and later fled abroad. After returning to Pakistan in 2022, he allegedly resumed militant activities.

Rangers said the suspect, along with other militants, was involved in a rocket and heavy-weapons attack on local residents in Shakdara, Swat. The attack reportedly left three civilians dead and two others seriously injured, including a woman passerby. Several vehicles belonging to local residents were also damaged.

Following the incident, the suspect allegedly moved to Karachi to evade arrest and was reportedly attempting to reorganize his network for further terrorist activities.

The suspect was wanted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Swat. After his arrest, he was handed over to CTD Swat for further legal proceedings.
