Sindh goes to lockdown for three days
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah Friday announced a three-day lockdown in the province.
The chief minister appealed to the people to stay in their homes for these days. He said it was better that all people went into the isolation.
The Sindh chief minister said that case the local transmission of the virus was a huge worry. The coronavirus cases in Sindh have reached 238 with one death in Karachi.
The Sindh’s announcement came after a meeting of National Coordination Committee in Islamabad which was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Chief ministers of all the provinces also attended the meeting through video link.
Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Imran Khan said he did not agree with the Sindh government suggestion of lockdown as the country could not afford a complete lockdown due to the economic conditions.
He said that the government had shut down cinemas and barred people from gathering at public places. However, he said that the federal government was not in favour of a lockdown as its effects will prove difficult for the poor.
