Two police officers shot and injured in Rawalpindi

A police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a head constable were injured as a result of firing by dacoits in Dhamiyal police station area of Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to spokesperson of Rawalpindi police, ASI Sajid and head constable Waqar were injured in the firing by six robbers who have been shifted to the hospital.

During the firing, two robbers were arrested who also were injured by the firing of their own accomplices.

The injured robbers were identified as Gul Meera and Hasan.

The spokesperson said that the bandits started firing at the police when the CIA police signalled the suspects to stop.

The accused were wanted in robbery cases.

On the information of the incident, senior police officers reached the spot.

A search operation is underway in the area to arrest the escaped robbers.
