PM Youth Programme event at FJMU

The Department of Community Medicine of Fatima Jinnah Medical University organised the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme event titled ‘From Vision to Action: How PMYP is shaping Youth Development’, a press release said on Thursday.

FJMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal graced the occasion as the chief guest and Fahad Shahbaz, Focal Person, Prime Minister Youth Programme Punjab, was the guest speaker.

The ceremony began with reciting the Holy Quran and the national anthem.  Prof Bilquis Shabbir briefed the attendees on the ongoing programmes, activities, and facilities provided to Fatima Jinnah Medical University students.

The hospital attached to FJMU is providing quality services to ailing humanity, following the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, she said, adding that the FJMU is one of the best universities and playing a pivotal role in education, research, innovation, and service delivery.

Prof welcomed Mr. Fahad Shehbaz at FJMU and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for his unparalleled service to the young generation.

He said that the Prime Minister's Youth Programme is a game changer for the youth of Pakistan. “This programme is a shining example of empowering the youth with skills, education, and business opportunities.” He said that the programme is a testament to Pakistan's commitment to fostering the talent of youth, which will help them become active partners in the country's development and equip them with the skills needed to succeed in the modern world. He further said that we are going to develop a proper Artificial Intelligence Department at FJMU soon. He congratulated Prof. Taskin Zahra, head of the Department of Community Medicine, and her team for organizing this successful seminar.

Mr Fahad Shahbaz said the Prime Minister's Youth Programme is shaping the development of youth in various ways. He appreciated the role of the Business Incubation Centre of Fatima Jinnah Medical University in supporting new business ideas and entrepreneurship. He highlighted that the scholarships are being provided to the students of Fatima Jinnah Medical University to provide financial support to deserving students.

He said that the Prime Minister is introducing such programs under the Youth Program, which will be helpful in strengthening Pakistan's economy, and youngsters will be directly benefitted from it. There are more than 100 clubs of the Green Youth Movement working all over Pakistan, to make Pakistan a real green.

At the end, history books and a shield were presented to the guest speaker. Fahad Shahbaz and Prof  Gondal also planted a sapling while launching the tree plantation campaign.
