Akhtar Mengal declines to attend APC
BNP-M leader Akhtar Mengal will not attend Sunday’s all parties conference being hosted by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Akhtar Mengal who is not feeling well and is getting treatment in Dubai declined to attend the huddle of the opposition leaders, Senator Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini informed the PPP leadership. “If the situation arises, Akhtar Mengal can address the conference through a video link.”
Senator Jehanzeb Jamaldini will lead the two-member delegation of Balochistan National Party-Mengal to the conference. The other member MNA Agha Hassan Baloch.
On Saturday, Senator Sirajul Haq said Jamaat-e-Islami will stay away from the opposition All Parties Conference because of its vague agenda.
Addressing a seminar in memory of Maulana Abdus Satar Niazi, JI Emir said the JI could not sit with those who are equally responsible with the PTI for the destruction of the country.
He expressed doubts the Sunday’s gathering would come forward with a clear and solid strategy to bring the country out of crises. However, he said, holding the APC was the right of the opposition parties and one could only hope it would make some positive impact on future politics.
Senator Siraj held the prime minister responsible for the increase in crimes in Punjab. He said the prime minister imposed an incapable team on the province which destroyed the already fragile sectors through worst governance.
